Drew Barrymore wants Adam Sandler to be by her side on the big screen forever!
On Thursday, the Santa Clarita Diet actress, 44, revealed that of all the people that she has co-starred in films and television shows with, there’s one that stands out among the rest — and whom she never wants her time with to end.
“Adam Sandler, obviously, just because I want to make movies with him forever,” she told PEOPLE exclusively at the Netflix show’s season three premiere.
The pair have already co-starred as love interests in three movies together — The Wedding Singer (1998), 50 First Dates (2004), and Blended (2014) — making them one of Hollywood’s favorite onscreen duos.
So is it time for the acting dream team to reunite again? According to Barrymore, they definitely have “more to go!”
“We just talked on the phone the other day,” she explained of her friendship with Sandler, 52. “We talk on the phone often, and we were like, it feels like something, I don’t know.”

“We always get like a time and an instinct thing,” she added. “We’ve done it three times now, so we know we have more to go.”
Barrymore previously revealed that it was her plan all along to become a fan-favorite on-screen couple with Sandler during an interview with Howard Stern in 2015.
“ I want to be a modern weird Hepburn, Tracey old Hollywood couple,” she said of when she first decided she wanted to star in a film with the actor.
During that interview, Barrymore also got candid about the first time she met Sandler, which she admitted was during a low point of her career. She said she called Sandler and asked him to meet, hoping that she would be able to convince him that they should star in a movie together.
But one look at Sandler when she first walked into the meeting with him, and she realized convincing him might take a little more work than she thought.
“We looked like the worst blind date you’ve ever seen,” she said. “I showed up with purple hair and a leopard coat and he was in his classic cargo pants.”
“As soon as I saw him I was like ‘Yeah you’re going to have to see past all this,’” she recalled, adding that she told him they had the potential to “do something meaningful.”
Since that first encounter, the actress has openly credited Sandler for her success — so much so in fact, that she dedicated a chapter of her 2015 book Wildflower to him titled “Adam.”
“He was hot s— and he believed in me,” she said. “It’s a little bit of a love letter to him because I have grown with this person.”
Most recently, Barrymore appeared on an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, where she hinted at the possibility of making another film with Sandler.

“Adam and I text all the time about our next thing, and we’re like, ‘We’re so fat. We’re so old. What the f—?” she said last March. “Literally, the last thing I suggested to him was like ‘On Golden Pond question mark.’”
“Adam and I have done a movie every 10 years, three decades in a row,” Barrymore added. “You cannot mess with that. We will do our 10-year at 40. We just haven’t figured out what it is yet.”
