Queen actress Kangana Ranaut is now all set to play the lead in the biopic of Jayalalithaa. The biopic will be based on the life of politician and actor Jayalalithaa. It was recently on her birthday when Kangana announced that she will be playing the lead in the biopic of this iconic leader. The biopic will be a multilingual film titled Thalaivi in Tamil and Jaya in Hindi.

Talking about the film in an official statement, Kangana shared how she started prepping up for her role and since the scenes will be in Tamil, she will be learning the language to understand her character better. She said, “I see parallels with my own journey in hers, but her success story is much bigger than mine. In the first narration itself, I could see myself doing the part because it came naturally to me. I could have gone ahead with my own biopic, but this was much more enticing.”
The Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi star further added, “Regional films have always interested me. When we go there to promote our films, we realise they have a thriving industry of their own and there is a major lack of connect with that audience as a Hindi film actor. I was looking for the right script to come my way and when it did, I lapped it up.”
The biopic is slated to go on floors in September this year. Other than this, Kangana is currently busy shooting for Panga in which she stars opposite Jassie Gill.
