Arbaaz Khan Says He Is Getting Work On His Own Merit And Not Because Of Salman Khan

The Khan brothers – Salman Khan, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan – have been in the movies for a long time now. Out of the three, Salman has been the most successful and is considered one of the biggest superstars in Bollywood. We cannot dismiss the fact that he has been very supportive of his brothers in their careers. But popular opinion has remained that Arbaaz and Sohail are in the industry because of Salman’s stardom.

Recently, in an interview with PTI, Arbaaz spoke about this and stated that his brother’s stardom has not guaranteed him a role every time and that he has worked hard to create a space for himself in the industry.

Here’s what he had to say:

I have done 70 films till now. There are people who do not get to act after two films. I have been in the industry for over two decades…people may give me one or two films because of Salman but no one can make my career. I have to work towards it. I am getting work on my own merit, be it good or bad. At the end of the day I am standing here on my own.

His biggest success professionally is the Dabangg franchise with Salman. He not only acted in it but has produced the first film and directed the second, making it a great success for him. Arbaaz even tried his hand in television with a brief hosting stint on Power Couple with former wife Malaika Arora. He has now forayed into the digital medium with his chat show on Zee5 called Pinch. Talking to PTI, he mentions that he never thought he would do a show like Pinch but the fact that it is faring so well with the audiences has led him to try new things. Khan is now gearing up to star in a web series on Zee5 called Poison where he plays the antagonist.

We cannot wait to see what this Khan brother has in store for us!
