Heidi Montag is opening up about her feud with sister-in-law Stephanie Pratt after it was revealed that they are “no longer on speaking terms.”
“It’s been a really hard week for me,” Heidi, 32, said on the Monday episode of her and husband Spencer Pratt‘s podcast Make Speidi Famous Again.
“I had a lot of on-Hills drama with a family member and that was very challenging and heartbreaking,” Heidi said without mentioning Stephanie, 32, by name.
“I felt like there were some very below-the-belt, nasty comments that weren’t even true.”
Heidi went on to claim that Stephanie was also speaking about her in a negative light to her friends.
However, Heidi insists that she wanted to keep the peace and reached out to her sister-in-law in hopes that they could make amends.
“I was just like, ‘Hey, yeah, let’s give it some time and I’d love to move forward.’ Then the person didn’t even message me and was, like, subtweeting me. So, it was live, ‘You obviously don’t want to make amends.'”
After that, Heidi says she took it upon herself to defend her name and her family amid Stephanie’s comments.
“You do need to have boundaries. Family, not family, friends… There’s no way I’m not standing up for myself and my family.”
Spencer, 35, echoed his wife’s sentiments saying, “Heidi’s not playing.”
“If you think you’re gonna walk on my sweet little angel, you have something coming your way,” Spencer added.
During a new episode of her iHeartRadio Pratt Cast podcast with Bachelor Nation’s Wells Adam, released Monday, Stephanie said that her relationship with both her brother and sister-in-law is shattered.
“We are not on good terms. We are not on speaking terms. I do not consider them my family,” said Stephanie.
She went on to explain that during a recent photo shoot for the upcoming Hills reboot, The Hills: New Beginnings, drama ensued between her and Heidi.
“We had our photo shoots for press and for the opening titles. We had three days of it that went to like 3 a.m. — they were long shoots. And Heidi had a bottle of champagne that she gave all the girls except for me,” Stephanie alleged.
When Stephanie was asked if Heidi could have been worried about her sister-in-law’s drinking, Stephanie said: “I’m not an alcoholic.”
Stephanie also admitted that she didn’t confront Heidi in the moment “because of my parents. That is the last time I’m putting my parents as the priority in front of this relationship.”
Stephanie, who has a long-strained relationship with both Spencer and Heidi, said, “No one knows the real Heidi.”
“Before The Hills: New Beginnings, my mom, my brother and I all sat down and we said we will not let this ruin our family again,” said Stephanie, who added, “I’m done. I don’t care. I’m not protecting them anymore.”
She continued, “I’m also not going to pretend that Spencer and Heidi are good people like I was doing for most of the series for my parents. … For the s— they have done to me recently, I’m done. This is why I moved to London. I’m done. I cannot live near them, They are the most toxic people I’ve ever met. They are Bonnie and Clyde till they die so if they say this sky is black, all of us are morons for saying it’s blue.”
Stephanie said of her relationship with the duo: “I’m done. I’m done. I’m confident and secure enough in myself to not pussyfoot around them. I’m done. I’m going to expose them for who they are.”
The reality star went on to say, “I have literally protected her for 10 years.”
Also during the discussion, Stephanie said, according to E! News,“Heidi doesn’t want Spencer to have a relationship with anyone but her. And you know what? That’s fine. I don’t want a relationship with Spencer anymore. Gunner, I will miss the fact that I’m going to miss out on the cutest, cutest, cutest little boy’s early years but it’s not worth it,” she added of her 18-month-old nephew, Gunner.
