The Academy of Country Music Awards brought together the biggest names in country in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Before the big show — which saw Reba McEntire host for the 16th time and featured a slew of epic performances — PEOPLE caught all the behind-the-scenes action on the red carpet.
Devin Dawson and Michael Ray ran into each other while on the red carpet with their significant others — Leah Sykes and Carly Pearce, respectively. The couples had a sweet moment talking about how they both just got engaged before posing for photos together.
Also turning the show into a date night was Lauren Bushnell and beau Chris Lane, who waited for Bushnell to fix her dress before posing for photos together. As Lane did interviews, Bushnell looked on.

Host Reba McEntire was in great spirits as she arrived with boyfriend Skeeter Lasuzzo. While McEntire twirled in her dress for photographers, Lasuzzo was more demure. Later, he waited patiently for her as she did her PEOPLE interview.

Brett Young arrived with wife Taylor — and her growing bump! When Young saw Luke Combs on the carpet, he started belting out Combs’ hit “Beautiful Crazy.” In response, Combs broke out in laughter.
As Bachelor couple Colton Underwood and Cassie Randolph made their red carpet debut, they packed on the PDA. When they thought no one was looking, they snuck in a kiss and said life hasn’t really gotten back to normal since the show’s finale aired on ABC.
One of the most anticipated couples to make their red carpet debut was Miranda Lambert and her new husband Brendan McLoughlin. After posing together, McLoughlin stepped off to the side so that Lambert could take some quick solo shots. Lambert then reached out her hand and said “Ready?” to McLoughlin before holding onto his elbow and introducing him to several people down the carpet.
Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were the equivalent of royalty when they arrived on the red carpet. As they walked down the carpet, they held each other’s hands and made time to stop and take selfies with fans at the gates.
Meanwhile, Luke Bryan and Kelly Clarkson shared a warm embrace after arriving at the same time.
The 54th Academy of Country Music Awards aired live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT on CBS.
