The news circuit has been buzzing with rumours of Ranveer Singh being cast in the third installment of the Don franchise. When Zoya Akhtar, the director of Gully Boy starring Ranveer was questioned about this development recently at an event, she rubbished the rumours. She avoided speaking on the status of Don 3 saying that neither she was Farhan Akhtar, nor Shah Rukh Khan and definitely not Ritesh Sidhwani.
Not too long ago, the internet was buzzing with reports of Shah Rukh Khan opting out of Don 3 and Ranveer Singh replacing him. A report in a leading daily suggested that Shah Rukh Khan opted out of Don 3 due to personal reasons. And that has left the makers without a hero. Then it was reported that Farhan Akhtar approached Ranveer Singh, who was last seen in Zoya's directorial, Gully Boy and that they have been in talks over the project.
But now, with Zoya refusing to divulge any details and even dismissing the rumours, the question prevails as to who will play the Don in the third part of the franchise…
