
Roshan Taneja, a man known to have coached some of Bollywood’s biggest talents including the likes of Shabana Azmi, Naseeruddin Shah, Jaya Bachchan, Anil Kapoor and Shatrughan Sinha pssed away last night, Friday May 10 2019, after a prolonged illness as confirmed by a family member.
Roshan Taneja’s son Rohit Taneja spoke about his father’s passing away to a news portal. He said, “My father passed away last night (Friday) at 9.30 p.m. in his sleep at home after a prolonged illness.”
Shabana paid condolences to the Taneja family, with her tweet that read, "Late last night came the sad news that Roshan Taneja passed away. He was my Guru at FTII and the only person whose feet I touched. I was privileged to be trained in acting by him."

Roshan Taneja, often considered to be the pioneer fo acting in Indian cinema, was always held in high regards for the members of the film fraternity. He had been training talent since the 1960’s. Initially, it was at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune and post that in his private academy.
