Along with biopics, remakes and sequels is another trend that is taking over Bollywood. And one of the most anticipated one amongst the lot is Mahesh Bhatt’s Sadak 2. Sadak 2 will mark the return of Mahesh Bhatt to direction after a long gap of 23 years. It was on Mahesh Bhatt’s 70th birthday when daughter Alia Bhatt confirmed the project on social media.
A few days earlier, our cameras snapped Alia and Aditya Roy Kapur outside the office of Vishesh Films from what seemed like a script reading session. In an interview with a leading daily, Mahesh Bhatt gave some insights about Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt’s character in the film. He said, “Alia’s character is out to expose a fake guru who runs an ashram. She is accompanied by Sanjay Dutt’s character in this journey. Sanjay has already started prep with Bhatt saab. They start shooting in a fortnight. Sadak 2 is about love, loss, and redemption. To simplify a heartfelt narrative like this is to falsify it. You would be trivialising the essence of the film by suggesting that Sadak 2 is just this.”
Along with Sanjay and Alia, the film also stars Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt in lead roles. Comment and let us know if you’re excited for the sequel.
