It is Met Monday in the West and we just started our day with out annual dose of fashion from the Met Gala 2019. The Met Gala or the Costume Institute Gala is a fashion exhibit that takes place on the first Monday of May for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Coming out with outrageous themes every year, the Met Gala isn’t your typical style event, it’s a celebration of the style from the past, present and future.
Camp: Notes on Fashion was was the theme for this year’s Met Gala. Explaining the theme a little, it stands for the exaggerate and elaborate side of fashion. It is to accentuate the authentic with the help of the artificial. With so much in this theme to explore with, the world was eager to see what our global diva Priyanka Chopra has in store for this year. She has made quite the mark each year and was excepted to go all out this year too. And she did!
Priyanka Chopra stepped up in a beautiful Dior Couture silver gown with yellow and pink ruffles on the end. She teamed it up with silver pumps and to top it all, sported an intense perm hairdo. Decoding her make-up, PeeCee sported a heavy black with a dark wine lip. She coloured her eyebrows silver, heavily underlined her eyes with white and added a few evident silver freckles on her face. Overall, a look so perfect, it’s as campy as we could have imagined.
That’s not all, complementing his lady, Nick Jonas wore a Dirt white tuxedo with a Casablanca-ish moustache. He paired his all white look with diamond jewels and glitter shoes. Priyanka’s maximalism and Nick’s minimalism struck quite the balance at the red carpet of the Met Gala 2019.
