Esha Gupta took to her social media yesterday to reveal a horrifying incident where she felt unsafe despite having security around her. The actress said she was out for dinner when a hotelier Rohit Vig came and sat on the table opposite her and stared at her through the night while she was there. Though the man did not touch or say anything, Esha talks about how his stare made her uncomfortable and violated.
Giving details of her experience, Esha said, “If a woman like me can feel violated and unsafe in the county, then idk what girls around feel. Even with two securities around I felt getting raped.. #RohitVig you’re a swine.. he deserves to rot”
Enraged by the incident, Esha further added, "Men like Rohit vig, are the reason women don’t feel safe any where. You around me with your eyes and stares was enough. ROHIT VIG- the man who thinks staring at a woman all night n making her uncomfortable is ok. He did not touch me or say anything. But throughout stare. Not as a fan, not Cus m an actor, but because m a Woman. Where are we safe? Is being a woman a curse!”
While many people applauded Esha’s efforts to call the man out, a lot of the tweets questioned her intentions of calling out the man on social media and not taking a legal route instead. To this, Esha replied, "It’s not about being a celeb. What a normal girl has to go through? How can a man be above the law. I was having dinner. He came much later n took the table opp us. Why is it ok for men to think it is okay”
