After Manmarziyaan, Abhishek Bachchan is all set to collaborate with Taapsee Pannu once again for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next. The actor has been roped in to play the character of famous poet Sahir Ludhianvi in the biopic based on him. Earlier there were several reports about who would be playing Abhishek’s alleged love interest in the film. Speculations were also rife that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had been roped in for the same. But soon all such rumours were denied. The makers have now confirmed a name.
New reports suggest that SLB has finalised Taapsee Pannu to play the role of the late novelist and poet Amrita Pritam. A source close to the project even confirmed the same to a daily saying, “'Both Abhishek and Taapsee have loved the story and are looking forward to collaborating again. However, they are yet to sign on the dotted line. Once the formalities are locked, they will begin preparations.”
Producer of the film, Sanjay Leela Bhansali spoke about the project to a daily and said, “Sahir saab was one of our most talented poet lyricist; his verses are still inspiring. To bring them back through his love story will be beautiful but also a huge responsibility. It’s a difficult film for the writer-director Jasmeet Reen too. So I don’t want to be in a hurry but give it the darza it deserves.”
Abhishek and Taapsee earlier wowed the audience with their chemistry in Anurag Kashyap’s Manmarziyaan. It would be exciting to see these two coming together for the Sahir Ludhianvi biopic.
