Is there anyone who doesn’t love Summer? After months of the cold weather and busy schedules, Summer is a time when people can finally unwind and relax. And while the season of warm days and short nights may only last a few fleeting months, the memories (and adventures) last forever. This Summer we also have some highly anticipated Bollywood films that will be releasing in theatres. So, we decided to kick off this special season by listing the best of Bollywood’s offerings ahead. Check it out.

1.Kalank
Release Date: 17 April 2019
Kalank is a film that producer Karan Johar has an extreme strong sentimental value attached to. The film was conceptualised by Karan and his father Yash Johar around fifteen years ago. They even had singed the late Sridevi to play the character now played by Madhuri Dixit. It was also confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan would play the role which is now played by Varun Dhawan. Period dramas are always a treat to watch in Bollywood and Kalank seems like no exception.

The film’s trailer provided us enough proof that the film is a visual treat.
The biggest selling point about the film however has to be the stellar cast. With talent like Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt in the mix, you are bound to expect fireworks to go off on screen.

2.Student Of The Year
Release Date: 10 May 2019
Over the years, we have seen the formation of many successful franchises in Bollywood and now it seems we have another addition to that list. With the release of Student Of The Year back in 2012, we saw the foray of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra in Bollywood. The trio could not have asked for a better debut since it was Karan Johar helming their first project. When Karan Johar takes the director’s hat, people obviously begin to have high expectations. But, as expected, Karan Johar truly delivered with Student Of The Year.

The film was a complete Bollywood package with action, drama, music, romance and a obviously lot of colours. Taking over the director’s duties from Karan Johar for the sequel is Punit Malhotra. While the sequel won’t have an all debutante star cast, we will see the debut of Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria in the film. Tiger Shroff will play the only male lead in the sequel.

3.De De Pyaar De
Release Date: 17 May 2019
Love triangles are always fun to watch on screen aren’t they? Mainly because they always promise loads of drama and humour thanks to the situations created due to misunderstandings. In De De Pyaar De, Ajay Devgn plays a 50 year old divorcée Ashish. Ashish ends up meeting a 26 year old Ayesha (Rakul Preet). The two are instantly attracted to each other and decide to take their relation to the next level. Ashish invites Ayesha to spend some time with his family where she meets up with with his ex wife played by Tabu.

Rakul Preet and Tabu can't stand the sight of each other and chance upon every opportunity to intimidate each other as Ajay Devgn tries hard to please everyone. Rakul Preet and Tabu's bickering sessions are amusing and Ajay's straight-face humour is like the cherry on the cake. Judging from the trailer, this one promises to be a laugh riot.

4.India’s Most Wanted
Release Date: 24 May 2019
Arjun Kapoor, who was last seen opposite Parineeti Chopra’s in Namste England, has some rather interesting projects in his kitty. One of his upcoming films includes Rajkumar Gupta’s India’s Most Wanted. Arjun will be seen getting into the shoes of an intelligence officer in the Raj Kumar Gupta film. Bankrolled by Fox Star and Rapchik Films, the movie is scheduled for a May 24, 2019 release. Fox Star Hindi also shared the photos on its Instagram handle with a caption that read, “A mission is as good as its leader. And #IndiasMostWanted has one of the best. Here’s @arjunkapoor AKA Prabhat.”
During the announcement of the film a few months back, Arjun shared a note on Twitter talking about the project. He wrote, “Honoured to be a part of an untold story that will inspire India! #IndiasMostWanted, a tribute to all the unsung heroes who dedicate their lives to protect ours.”
He also mentioned, “As actors we all want/search for rare stories that have the potential to inspire. ‘India’s Most Wanted’ is one such story based on true events that will make every Indian proud. ‘India’s Most Wanted’ is our tribute to the valour of those who devote their lives to protecting ours.”
Apart form Arjun Kapoor, the film also stars Amrita Puri in the leading role.

5.Bharat
Release Date: 5 June 2019
Bharat without a doubt one of the biggest projects in Salman Khan’s career so far. Along with a star studded cast, the film also is extremely heavy on visual effects. An official remake of the Korean film An Ode To My Father, Bharat depicts the history of India through the life of an ordinary man and no points for guessing who will be playing that man.
The teaser of Bharat was released on January 25 this year in which we saw Salman Khan in several different avatars like a motorcyclist performing exhilarating stunts, a Navy officer and an ageing boxer. The film also stars Katrina Kaif, Tabu, Disha Patani and Shashank Arora, Jackie Shroff and Sunil Grover in pivotal roles.

6.The Zoya Factor
Release Date: 14 June 2019
Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan starrer Zoya Factor has been creating quite a lot of buzz ever since the film was announced. The leading pair also took to Instagram and shared the a poster of the film. The poster shows Dulquer and Sonam holding and peeking out from behind the novel by Anuja Chauhan, on which the film is based. In the wildly popular novel, a girl named Zoya Singh Solanki, an advertising executive turns out to be the lucky charm for the Indian Cricket Team. While Zoya’s role will be essayed by Sonam, Dulquer will be seen in the character of Nikhil Khoda, the skipper of the Indian cricket team, who is sceptical about the hype surrounding Zoya and according to the novel, does not believe in luck. The film is directed by Abhishek Sharma and produced by Fox Star Studios. The screenplay has been penned by Neha Rakesh Sharma, and the dialogues are written by Pradhuman Singh.

7. Kabir Singh
Release Date: 21 June 2019
Messy hair, untidy beard, sipping on alcohol straight from the bottle and puffing on cigarettes. Much like the original, this Shahid Kapoor-starrer Kabir Singh, a remake of the Telugu film Arjun Reddy, seems to follow the same plot line. Arjun Reddy which starred Vijay Deverakonda in lead turned out to be a massive hit which is why we weren’t surprised when director Sandeep Reddy Vanga decided to recreate film in Hindi. The film can be termed as a modern version of Devdas which follows its hero’s fall from grace after his girlfriend leaves him. He wallows in self-pity and self-abuse before fixing his life. Check out the teaser below.
