Hereâs why Amitabh Bachchan could not meet his fans on Sunday

It’s been 36 years since Amitabh Bachchan meets his fans from across the country every Sunday at Jalsa, his residence, in Juhu. He always informs his fans through his social media platforms, in case, he is out of town. But this Sunday in spite of being in town, the 76-year-old superstar couldn’t do the ritual of meeting and greeting his fans and the reason is his ill health. 

The legend tweeted yesterday afternoon saying, “T 3154 - All Ef and well wishers .. not doing the Sunday meet at Jalsa Gate this evening ..” He further explained on his blog, “ ..Not doing the Sunday Darshan today... In bed... Pain .. Inform all, nothing to worry, but unable to come out.” 

Mr Bachchan was last seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s Badla along with Taapsee Pannu. The film is declared a box-office hit. Last month he was shooting for Nagraj Manjule’s first Hindi film Jhund in Nagpur. The megastar has already completed shooting for Ayan Mukherjee’s ambitious project Brahmastra. He is teaming up with Emraan Hashmi for the first time for a thriller and there are reports of him playing a transgender in Akshay Kumar’s Laaxmi, which is an official remake of Tamil hit Kanchana. Big B seemed surprised by the fact that him not meeting his fans would become national news.
