Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif are ready to entertain the audience in Rohit Shetty's Sooryavanshi. But now the latest report around the film is that Neena Gupta will be seen essaying the part of Akshay's mother in the film. The Filmfare Award-winning actress has given her nod to play Akshay’s mom in Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited Sooryavanshi. It will be her first big budget film. Post Badhaai Ho's success, Neena Gupta made the audience eager to know about which film she would sign next. Now with Sooryavanshi she has raised the bar of excitement as she will be seen with Akshay and Katrina. Neena is super excited about her part in the cop drama because it’s not a typical mother’s role. She confirmed the news and told a leading daily, “This is an interesting role because it isn’t the stereotypical mother who asks his son about food, marriage etc, but has several dimensions. There is a new temperament to the mother and you will get to see a very different dynamic between Akshay, Katrina and me. This is a new, sweet and interesting space that I am looking to explore. I am happy that more people will get to see my work. Rohit has made some amazing films which have been appreciated by the audience.”
The film is all set to go on floors in a few days in Mumbai. After shooting for 10-12 days in the city, Rohit will head to Bangkok to shoot Akshay’s introductory scene. And later he will head to shoot in Goa and Ramoji Filmcity in Hyderabad. The film is slated to release on Eid 2010.
