Fake news is the most toxic thing the internet has ever given birth to. While credible news portals try to stick to facts, sometimes, unknown sources start irrelevant rumours about famous celebrities. One such incident happened with yesteryear legend, Mumtaz. The actress who ruled in the early ‘70s was reported to have passed away.
The news shook everyone, but some people were quick to confirm before spreading it on. Director Milap Zaveri took to social media to announce that there is no truth to the news of Mumtaz’s demise and she is healthy and hearty. He posted, “Mumtaz Aunty is alive and absolutely fine. Just spoke to her and @Shaadrandhawa her nephew. She would like for the rumours to stop.”
Fortunately, this tweet put an end to the otherwise heartbreaking news and made portals rectify the mistake instantly.
