t’s time for earthen lamps, lanterns and rangoli. The country is celebrating the grand festival of Deepawali. Everyone is soaking up the joys of the festival of lights and the festive bug hasn’t left our film stars far behind. Catching up with some of the B-town’s celebrities, we found out one thing they all absolutely love about Diwali. Take a look what they said:
Athiya Shetty
“I love everything about Diwali. I love diyas and lights. I love to meet my friends. It’s time to meet family, relatives and friends. I like to wear ethnic and love to dress up in all Indian attire on festivals. I remember when I was a kid I used to get pocket money from my grandparents on Diwali. This Diwali I am very excited because my film Motichoor Chaknachoor is also releasing.”
Aparshakti Khurrana
“One thing I absolutely love about celebrating Diwali that it is always about family and reunion for us. As family we all look forward to this reunion. We are from Chandigarh, our parents are there so we normally go to Chandigarh to celebrate Diwali with them. I have friends there, so this is the time when we get together, So it’s fun time for us. We look forward to the diyas, lights and Indian mithai, the desi mithai. People who follow me on Instagram they know how much I love desi mithai.”
Maniesh Paul
“Diwali is very special to me because it’s one time the entire family gets together. As I stay in Mumbai my parents stay in Delhi with my entire family. So we always travel back to Delhi for Diwali... me, my wife and my kids. So it’s about everybody getting together. I love the lights and I love everything about Diwali. For me it’s important that during Diwali Delhi ki hawa hi change ho jaati hai. There is something very special about Delhi… the weather changed and it’s full of lights and everything. So we all get together we have a lot of fun.”
Saiyami Kher
“What I love the most about Diwali is just the celebration with family, because of work and my parents schedules, my schedule.. Diwali is a time when we actually get to be together and spend time. My mom makes all my favourite food during Diwali. Usually we try and go for holiday somewhere, but this year I will be working so i don’t think I will be able to go home and spend time with my parents. But Diwali to me is family time.”
Sooraj Pancholi
“What I like about Diwali is that it is when your family comes together. Your cousins, your old relatives, your father, mother, your grandparents and everyone comes together to celebrate Diwali. Diwali is about life and lights. It’s a new year for all of us. It’s about luck and prosperity for everyone. I want to wish everyone a happy Diwali. Diwali is going to be special for me because my film Shankar Satellite is also coming this year. It’s gonna be special special Diwali because I am spending this Diwali with the soldiers, the soldiers family in Punjab, Pathankot and in Jammu.”
